ITALIAN HOME CLINCHES SECOND STRAIGHT TITLE WITH 8-3 WIN

SHENANGO TOWNSHIP -- Italian Home successfully defended its Shenango Valley Modified League title Wednesday night with an 8-3 win over Tornado Alley in Game Four of the best-of-five championship series. Italian Home wins the series 3-1.

In the clincher, Italian Home rallied from a 3-1 deficit with six runs in the fifth. John Tomko's two-run double gave Italian Home the lead for good. In all, Italian Home collected 14 hits in the win. Geno Rossi and Tomko doubled and singled while Clint Ansell and Keith Regula singled twice. Frank Tamber tripled while Corey Trott added two hits.

Winning pitcher Chuck Joseph limited Tornado Alley to just three hits over seven innings. Harry Bowser pitched into the fifth but absorbed the loss for Tornado Alley. Jim Kopan pitched in relief. Mike Burke, Marty Baur and Chad Kettering all singled for Tornado Alley.

ITALIAN HOME PULLS OUT 4-3 WIN, TAKES 2-1 SERIES LEAD

SHENANGO TOWNSHIP -- Italian Home scored three times in the top of the sixth Tuesday and held on for a 4-3 win over Tornado Alley in Game Three of the Shenango Valley Modified League championship series.

Corey Trott doubled as part of a three-hit night for Italian Home while Steve Feigert singled and scored two runs. Chuck Joseph earned the pitching victory, scattering six hits. Chad McCombs doubled and singled for Tornado Alley while Chad Kettering tripled. Jim Kopan took the defeat for Tornado Alley.
