LOGAN & CO. 10, CHICCARINO'S 9

HERMITAGE -- Devin Kulka cracked a two-run double in the bottom of the eighth to give host Logan & Co. a 10-9 home win over Chiccarino's Thursday night at St. Paul's United Church of Christ.

Chiccarino's (6-5) owned an 8-5 lead in the bottom of the seventh but Logan & Co. tied the game on Alex Giroski's two-out, three-run homer. Chiccarino's took a 9-8 lead in the top of the eighth on Cale McConnell's solo homer but Logan & Co. (9-3) rallied in the home half of the inning.

Frank Scarvel went 3 for 3 with two doubles for Logan & Co. while Dustin Kulka doubled twice. Fred Sloan added a pair of singles. Devin Kulka tossed a complete game to earn the win.

For Chiccarino's, John Wise doubled and singled while Ryan Briggs and Randy McConnell both went 3 for 4. Briggs took the pitching loss, walking one in 7 1/3 innings. Chiccarino's stranded three runners in the seventh and two more in the eighth.

Six of the last 10 regular-season games between the two teams have been decided by one run. Logan & Co. won the first meeting this year 11-9 May 19.
